After six years away, the much-anticipated return of the Victoria Secret Fashion Show was more than just a spectacle—it marked a new chapter in the brand’s evolution. Leading the charge was renowned designer Zaldy, who set himself apart as a fashion trailblazer through his award- winning collaborations with the likes of RuPaul, Lady Gaga, and Britney Spears. With the world watching and his bold vision demanding nothing short of perfection, Zaldy turned to Tangible Creative.
Our team leveraged cutting-edge materials and manufacturing techniques to create several of the wings worn by the models during the show. The challenge wasn’t just aesthetic—it was about delivering flawless execution under tight deadlines while working in a very high-profile setting. It was crucial that every piece met the impeccable standards demanded by both Zaldy and Victoria’s Secret.
Spellbinding Wings: The Victoria’s Secret Logo in 3D
One of the most eye-catching creations for the show was the above set of 3D printed wings, spelling out “Victoria’s Secret” in bright red, elegantly laced around a pink ribbon. Crafting such an unconventional garment posed some significant challenges that our experienced team of engineers was well-equipped to handle
To achieve the dual-color finish, we printed the Victoria’s Secret letters separately from the body of the wings. Given the size of the piece, weight was a key consideration. We printed the wings hollow with a custom lattice structure on the inside, which not only provided the necessary strength but also allowed us to drain the liquid resin during the printing process. The separate components were painted individually—red for the letters and pink for the ribbon—and then carefully bonded together to form the final piece. The resulting set of wings had a striking visual impact that would have been impossible without state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques and engineering know-how.
Crafting Lisa’s Show-Stopping Wings
One of the most talked about pieces from the show was the set of abstract floral wings worn by K-pop megastar Lisa of Blackpink. Vogue described them as the “pièce de résistance” that anchored her fabulous outfit, and while they dazzled the audience, creating these wings required a careful blend of artistry and engineering.
Our team 3D printed the wings on an industrial SLA clear printer, guaranteeing the highest level of detail and precision. Given their size and complexity, we had to print the wings in multiple pieces, which were later meticulously assembled and bonded together. We also reinforced the wings with a two-part resin for added strength, so that they could hold up to Lisa’s energetic performance. For the final touch, we tinted the wings with a transparent black clear coat, giving them a sleek finish that shone brilliantly in the spotlight.
In addition to her stunning wings, Lisa opened the show with a magnificent outfit that brought together a unique combination of materials and techniques. This look featured an inventive use of can tabs, which we chromed to ensure they caught the stage lights and added extra shine.
The top chest plate was 3D printed in two parts. The winged bra was painted black, and the star at the center was hydro chromed, giving it a sleek, mirror-like finish. One of the more intricate elements was Lisa’s belt, which was printed in seven separate pieces. Each part, from the black base to the chrome details, was carefully designed with built-in registration points to ensure flawless assembly. The final result was an outfit that blended creativity, precision, and cutting-edge finishing techniques—delivering a look that was as striking as it was innovative.
Lila Moss, Rianne Van Rompaey, and the Art of Hydro Chroming
Lila Moss also made headlines while wearing an intricate set of wings, custom-made with her name spelled out in cursive. For this look, we 3D printed the wings using white resin, allowing us to achieve the fine details and lightweight structure required for this piece. After printing, we applied a hydro chroming process to give the wings a reflective finish that caught the stage lights at every angle during her walk.
Another standout piece from the show was the ribbon-like top worn by Rianne Van Rompaey, designed to look as if it were flapping in the wind. This unique creation was sculpted out of Worbla, which posed a significant challenge when applying a top-coat finish. Our team was able to apply a hydro chroming process while making sure the finish didn’t flake off, giving the garment its reflective chrome polish. We then brought the look to life by tinting the chrome a deep red, matching the outfit’s theme.
